BREAKFAST

In the morning, enjoy a freshly cooked full English breakfast made with locally sourced products; just the thing to keep you going through the day ahead. You can choose from fresh free range eggs supplied by Scales Farm. Thick and meaty back bacon. Slightly spicy Cumberland sausage. Juicy plump grilled tomatoes and fresh mushrooms sautéed in butter. Our exception to the, "only local", rule is Stornoway black pudding. You can't get any better, (even our guests from Bury love it!), and that's why we serve it. Not forgetting the old family favourite, Heinz beans.

Our extensive vegetarian and coeliac alternatives are cooked separately from any meat or wheat products. We will happily try to cater for special dietary needs if you let us know in advance. We also have a buffet style selection of fresh fruit, cereals and fruit juices to choose from. Toast toppers include Marmite, honey, jam, marmalade, peanut butter and Nutella.

In honour of Robert Southey, the original writer of," The Three Bears", you may like to try our hot porridge topped with crushed Brazil, Hazel and Walnuts and drizzled with cream and honey or choose from some healthy fruit toppings instead. We're always on the lookout for new toppings; like the one that a recent guest requested - 12 yr old malt whisky!

Our freshly brewed coffee is supplied by Taylors of Harrogate. For every four packs that our guests drink, Taylors plant a tree as part of their Rainforest Project. So far this year we've managed to plant seven trees.

Breakfast is served between 8.15am and 9am. If you require to have breakfast earlier than this, we can usually make alternative arrangements.
